Are Poets Fools?

Are poets fools,
or
prophets inviting us to
a heart - wisdom,
or
simply mad?

All three?
Anyone who talks to angels
streaming
between heaven
and that nearest tree,
who listens to muses
from another world,
who follows her own drummer,
is simply
a simpleton
answering
a summons
to
Love
and
LOVING.

In a world gone mad
with terror,
fear,
greed,
judging one another,
love of things,
and more new things,
Quiet Listening
where one can hear
the angels
is
the only pause
of
sanity.

Be Still, my restless heart
Angels speak today.
